Leeds post-punk outfit Yard Act may have been stopped in their tracks by the global pandemic not long after their formation, but that didn’t stop them from carving a name for themselves in the British indie scene. A handful of scintillating and hilariously dark singles emerged while the world was in turmoil, but the band had seemingly written the perfect soundtrack. 2022’s debut full-length The Overload landed them at the number two spot in the UK charts and saw them nominated for a Mercury Music Prize nomination, quickly making them one of the most talked about bands of a new politically-charged generation.
